Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect only what we need to run Tailor. We will never sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything other than providing this service. Your resume is yours.

What we collect

• Account information — your email address and encrypted password when you sign up.
• Resume content — everything you write, upload, or generate inside Tailor. This is your data and stays yours.
• Billing data — payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We only store a record of what credits were purchased.
• Usage data — basic logs of actions taken in the app (e.g. when a resume was created or a tailoring job ran). Used to keep the service working and to fix bugs.

How we use it

We use your data to provide and improve Tailor — nothing else. Specifically: to authenticate you, save your resumes, process payments, and run AI features. We do not use your resume content to train our own models.

AI processing — full transparency

The AI features in Tailor (resume parsing, tailoring, and scoring) are powered by leading AI model providers. When you use these features, your resume content and any job descriptions you paste are sent to those providers to generate results. That data is subject to their respective privacy policies. We do not control what those providers do with data on their end, but we only use providers with strong data protection commitments.

If you're not comfortable with resume content being processed by a third-party AI provider, the non-AI features — building, editing, and downloading your resume as a PDF — do not involve any external AI processing and are always free.

Third-party services we use

Running Tailor requires a small set of infrastructure providers. Each receives only the data necessary to do their job:

• Supabase — database and authentication (stores your account and resume data)
• Stripe — payment processing (handles all billing; we never touch your card details)
• Vercel — hosting and infrastructure
• AI model providers — process resume and job description content for AI features only

We do not use advertising networks, analytics platforms, or any other data brokers.

We will never sell your data

Full stop. Your resume content, email address, and usage data will never be sold to or shared with any third party for marketing, advertising, recruitment, or any other commercial purpose.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you want your account and all associated data deleted, email us at support@trytailor.net and we will delete everything within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and notify you by email.
